Previewing our trip to Millwall

Our official match preview for Millwall away

the den

Luton Town travel down to the capital as we return to Sky Bet Championship action against Millwall at The Den, live on Sky Sports Football in the UK.

The international break came at a good time for the Hatters after results not going our way in the first four games of the season.

Neil Harris’ Millwall also had a slower start to the season before a 3-0 win against Sheffield Wednesday boosted them up to 15th in the table.

Team news

Rob Edwards confirmed that the five first team players that were on international duty during the break have all returned fit.

That is despite Reuell Walters coming back with an illness that he has now recovered from and our number two has trained since his return.

New signing Victor Moses will be available for selection, while Tom Krauß is not quite ready to go but is “chomping at the bit to get involved,” according to Edwards.

Jacob Brown has been training but is not ready to return this weekend, while Daiki Hashioka is set to be a week or two behind Krauß in recovery.

The opposition

Millwall welcome the Hatters to The Den, off the back of a strong performance against Sheffield Wednesday, where they defeated the Owls 3-0.

The hosts have kept two clean sheets in their first four Championship games this season, but in the other two games, have conceded a combined 7 goals against Bristol City and Watford.

Duncan Watmore is the joint top scorer in the EFL Championship with four goals to his name, already equalling his total from last season.

Last time we met

During our promotion-winning season, in early April, Luton were sat in fourth place, whilst Millwall were sat in fifth, just six points behind.

Both teams had their chances in the Good Friday fixture, but nevertheless, the game ended 0-0, proving to be a solid point for the Hatters in the final push for promotion.

Officials

The referee for our fixture against Millwall will be Josh Smith.

18 yellow cards have been handed out by Smith across his first five games of the season.

Before the international break, Smith most recently refereed the Premier League fixture between Brentford and Southampton.

We last had a game officiated by Smith when we drew 1-1 with Wolves back in September 2023.

Referee: Josh Smith

Assistant Referees: Andrew Fox & Hugh Gilroy

Fourth Official: Daniel Middleton
