Luton Town make the long trip down to the South West to face Plymouth Argyle in the Sky Bet Championship, live on Sky Sports in the UK.
Rob Edwards’ Hatters look to make it three wins on the bounce for the first time since March 2023, after beating Millwall and Sheffield Wednesday in our previous two games.
Wayne Rooney’s Argyle side will hope to have a similar result to their last home game, where they beat Sunderland 3-2, following a 93rd minute winner.
The opposition
Last season, Plymouth survived potential relegation to League One with a final day victory at home against Hull City.
Rooney’s Argyle have had mixed form since the former England international took over in the summer, winning one, drawing two and losing three.
Last weekend, Argyle travelled to the Hawthorns, where they fell to a 1-0 defeat against top of the table West Bromwich Albion.

“It’s nice to get a couple wins on the board. It was difficult to win games last year, so to try and find that winning habit again is important.
“There’s work to do and there’s still more to come from us, but its nice to start getting that momentum going.
“There is always going to be pressure on us and an expectation for what we should be doing, but we just focus on ourselves and don’t think about the pressure on the opposition.
“It’s a night game at their place, so it will be lively, and they’ll be confident and ready to go as they are performing well. It will be a good game, but we can only focus on ourselves and what we are doing.
“We want players performing really well, and giving us difficult decisions to make, so it was pleasing that we had big impacts from the bench on Saturday against Sheffield Wednesday.
“Plymouth’s performances have been good, they are certainly growing in confidence under their new manager. They’ve got some great threat in that top-line, with some tricky and pacey players, so it will be a difficult game.”

Last time we met
We last met during our triumphant 2018/19 season, where we finished as champions of League One.
We travelled to Home Park in early March, coming away with a point after a goalless draw, with neither side managing to find an opening.
The Hatters created numerous chances to win it, but the hosts stay resilient in defence and picked up a solid point.

It is not good news for Jamaican defender Amari’i Bell, who will not be involved on Friday night due to a hamstring problem.
Shandon Baptiste and Daiki Hashioka have made good progress this week, but it will be too early for either of them to return to action at Home Park.

Last Saturday, we welcomed Sheffield Wednesday to The Kenny and claimed all three points, making it two wins from two.
Barry Bannan struck first for the visitors with a tidy volley into the bottom right corner shortly after half-time.
This would not phase the Hatters however, with Carlton Morris finding the equaliser through a calm penalty, and a red card handed to the Owls defender Di’Shon Bernard.
Morris completed his brace when he smashed the ball into the net from point blank range, earning Luton all three points late on in the game.

The referee for our fixture against Plymouth Argyle will be John Busby.
20 yellow cards and one red card has been handed out by Busby across his five games this season.
Last Tuesday, Busby refereed the Carabao Cup fixture between Wycombe Wanderers and Aston Villa, where he handed out one yellow card.
Our last fixture officiated by Busby was the goalless draw with Portsmouth, where he handed out six yellow cards and one red card.
