Luton Town's Lisa raising funds for trek in aid of club charity of the year NOAH!

Our club charity of the season NOAH is hosting its first ever trekking challenge to the incredible island of Madagascar next November – and a valued member of our club staff, Lisa McEvoy, is aiming to raise £4,200 to help her take part!

Departing November 18 to 29, the 12-day challenge offers a once-in-lifetime adventure, spending five days trekking through the spectacular jungles of Andringitra National Park, before helping at a community project.

This challenge will provide an opportunity to raise much needed funds for NOAH, whilst giving the participant an experience and challenge they will never forget.

Profits from this adventure will help those suffering from severe poverty and homelessness, provide hot meals, clothing, medical help and support and assistance into temporary and permanent housing, while also offering support into employment.

Lisa, who is a member of the Kenilworth Road reception team and Support SLO, said: “When challenges like this come along, it would be all too easy to say it’s too hard and turn a blind eye - and I am under no illusion that it will be bloomin’ hard, both mentally and physically - but turning a blind eye is not what Noah is all about.

“They tackle the issues facing homeless people, supporting them to end that vicious circle of negativity, bringing hope and a second chance to so many.

“They are an incredible charity who do so much for people in Luton Town, where I was born and bred and have always worked.

“I never want to stop pushing myself to be the best version of me and to be a mum my boys are proud of.

“I recently had a chat with my eldest son about not taking the easy route and challenging yourself. Being afraid but doing it anyway. No one getting anywhere in life by sitting back and waiting. I realised during that chat that I was going to sign up for this challenge and practice what I preach!

“Every single penny you can donate will help those that really need it and will help spur me on with my training to get through these 12 days.

“This is going to test me to my limit but I can’t wait. The fear is real, but with all of your support and sponsorship, I can’t wait to take that photo at the summit of Pic Boby in the Andringitra National park.”

If you feel able to support Lisa, and in turn our club charity of the season NOAH Enterprise, please donate via her JustGiving page.

We announced our club charity partnership with NOAH in March during the build-up to our derby win over Watford, which you can read about HERE.
