It was announced in the New Year's Honours List that the man known to all around Luton as 'Raj' would be rewarded for his tireless fundraising for the community in his home town by being made a Member of the Order of the British Empire.
After receing his medal at Windsor Castle, Raj said: "I am incredibly humbled and grateful to have received the MBE from HRH Prince William for my services to the communities in Luton and Bedfordshire.
"However, this recognition is not just mine alone. It belongs to the many people who have supported my work over the last 15 years, particularly those within Luton's diverse communities, businesses, and charities.
"I would like to thank my family and friends for their unwavering support, and the amazing team at Community Interest Luton, whose hard work and dedication have made this achievement possible. I share this honor with all of you.
"I would also like to extend my gratitude to the following organizations for their continued support: Luton Town Football Club, Squared Organisation, Level Trust, Keech Hospice Care, Bedfordshire Police, Rotary International, and CYCD.
"Thank you for your unwavering support and commitment to our community. This recognition is a testament to our collective efforts, and I am proud to be part of such an incredible community."
Well done Raj - we're all proud of you!
