In partnership with Putteridge Secondary School who generously hosted the event, Luton Town FC Community Trust delivered two workshops focusing on the themes of allyship and inclusion.

In the allyship workshop, pupils developed their knowledge of the Premier League's Rainbow Laces campaign and created messages of inclusion for the LGBTQIA+ community.

In the inclusion workshop, pupils developed their knowledge on why inclusion is important and how exclusion can affect people's mental health and wellbeing.

The event was supported by Show Racism The Red Card, who delivered an anti-discrimination workshop where pupils learnt more about why stereotyping of people impacts valuing difference and diversity.

Feedback from the Year 6 pupils who attended suggests that they feel they know more about the themes of equality, diversity and inclusion and that they have a better understanding of why allyship and inclusion is important.

Philip Hilaire-Moore, Programmes Manager for Education, Health and Community said, “It's important that children and young people understand how equality, diversity and inclusion play a vital part in building stronger communities.

“In partnership with the schools, we were able to further embed these values to Year 6 pupils who will transition to Putteridge High school in September. Co-producing this event with the schools enables us to promote our shared equality, diversity and inclusion values.”
