HELP US COLLECT AND CELEBRATE YOUR STORIES OF LTFC - FREE ORAL HISTORY WORKSHOPS

What memories do you have of your first Luton Town match? Where were you when Luton won the Littlewoods Cup? Did you see George Best play at the Kenny? Do you remember when Mick Harford was Luton’s number nine?

As part of our Heritage Lottery grant aided schools heritage project we are looking to collect and record supporters' memories of the Hatters through the years. We want to take these memories into the classroom to bring alive the Club’s 130-year history to the next generation of young supporters.

It’s a great project that is generating lots of interest in local schools, and if you are interested in Hatters’ history then why not come along to one of our FREE oral history workshops and volunteer to help us collect and celebrate memories of Luton and the Football Club.

At the workshop you will learn new skills with step by step interview instructions and expert tuition from an Oral History Society trainer. Once you have learnt how to collect oral history we will hold ‘listening events’ at Kenilworth Road to gather and preserve supporters' stories and then to share and stimulate with all future Hatters supporters in the Town.

We’re sure everyone saw our article when Linda Ainsworth stood in her Mum’s footsteps at the Kenny 83 years after she played at the Kenny, and we want to discover as many of the other hundreds of hidden stories as we can to record for history and share with future generations our proud history and connection with the Town.

You can attend our FREE oral history workshop on either Monday 18 February or Saturday 9 March, 10am-4pm, at Luton Central Library, Upper George Street, LU1 2NG.

To book your place contact our Community Heritage Engagement Officer Natasha Rolt by emailing Natasha.Rolt@LutonTown.co.uk or calling the Community Trust Office on 01582 561622.
