30 young male and female Peace Ambassadors will be recruited to:
• Get involved in something worthwhile that will positively affect their career choices• Have their voices heard in Luton and potentially the rest of the world• Help to organise a showcase Peace Tournament at Luton Town FC• Hear more about conflict resolution, diversity, events management• Gain recognised level 1 and 2 sports qualifications - Football Coaching, Sports Leader etc• Have the opportunity to be part of the new Luton Youth Council• Opportunity to obtain 1st 4 Sport FA Level 1 in Coaching Football, FA Referee plus other
As an ambassador, currently in Year 11 or 12, they will also:
• Gain confidence• Learn new and useful skills• Be able to add new experiences and knowledge to their CV• Be given branded clothing to identify them as an ambassador• Have their travel expenses paid• Be given the opportunity to access LTFC tickets free of charge for certain games
Ambassadors don't need:
• Knowledge or experience of sport, but an interest in sport would be helpful• To play football themselves• To have academic ability• To worry about the qualification aspects of being involved – we will do our best to make sure that they get out of the programme what they want to achieve
