Manager Nathan Jones praised Brighton and Hove Albion for providing a good test after the Premier League side were 3-1 victors this afternoon.

The gaffer was somewhat frustrated in the build-up to the game after admitting that preparation had been hampered by several disruptions out of his control, but overall was accepting of what he saw from his players.

Speaking post-match, Nathan said: “I thought when we played with aggression, we looked a really good side. We started brilliantly but there has been so much disruption this pre-season, we’ve had to makeshift in terms of what we have to do and especially defensively in regards to centre-half partnerships.

“It was a good test because they are a really good footballing side and we showed that we can cause them problems, but we have to do the basics better. Once we’re back in and going week to week it will be much better because the last two and a half weeks have been so disjointed. We have to get to Monday, re-evaluate, see who we have got and move from there.”

Gabe Osho impressed in both a midfield and defensive role, the former of which Jones insisted may be an avenue his staff look to explore this season.

“We might look at that in the future because he is athletic, he can do things defensively, it is just we needed to do it today. With the way the game went we didn’t really get to grips with anything, we weren’t brave in possession and then we allowed Brighton to dictate play.”

Harry Cornick grabbed another pre-season goal and after having just one to his name last term, the manager is confident Harry and his team-mates will provide end product this season.

“Harry has scored a few in pre-season, he has looked dangerous, and Harry is a dangerous player in terms of what he does. We have good competition in those areas, but what I have to do is pick a team that can win games. I’m not too worried about the attacking aspects of our game because we have scored a goal in every match, we have looked a threat in every match, although in every game we should have scored more.”
