The Hatters head to fortress Villa Park knowing the hosts have won their last 11 matches on home turf and are unbeaten in their last five matches in all competitions.
“We’ll be honest with the players, we’ll talk about the opposition’s strengths, where their dangers are and how we can stop them,” said Edwards.
“There are always areas in teams to exploit and we’ve got to try and do that at the right times. We have a plan to do that and we’ll hopefully take advantage in certain moments.”
The Hatters fought back from two goals down to earn a point at Nottingham Forest last weekend and Edwards says his team need to improve on their performance if they are to get anything out of Unai Emery’s in-form Villans.
“Let’s be clear, we’ve got to be better than we were against Forest,” he said. “Better in all aspects: without the ball, switching on, when winning the ball back.
“We’ve got to be really good to get something from the game but we’ve had a good week, we’ll have another day to prepare and I like how we’re shaping up. So let’s go and attack it.”
