The Town Under-21s bounced back from the disappointment of last week’s defeat against Burnley by beating Bromley on Tuesday night.

Alex Lawless’ side dominated the first hour but went behind against the run of play in the first half.

However, the Hatters equalised after the break thanks to a fine free-kick from outside the penalty area from centre-half Tom Holmes.

The turnaround was complete when Jack Lorentzen-Jones’ defence-splitting pass found Tyrell Giwa and, after holding off his man, he fired home.

The Town held on in the closing stages to secure their second win in three matches in the friendly league.

Lawless said: “We had the lion’s share of the ball and were the better side in and out of possession yet found ourselves behind so credit must go to the lads, they kept going and got their rewards.

“After going ahead we rode our luck a little in the final 20 minutes but we did enough to see it out. After the frustration of losing to Burnley, I’m pleased the lads came through this test with a victory.”

Town: Coyne, Giwa, Benagr, Bateson, Holmes, Francis-Clarke, Loretenzen-Jones, Kayibanda, Harris, Bala, Trustram.

Subs: Chigozie, Ioannides, Paternoster, Takawira, Blackledge.
