Despite dominating the opening 15 minutes it was Cambridge who took the lead against the run of play to go in at the interval in front.
However, Alex Lawless’ side remained patient and got their reward with 20 minutes left when Sam Anderson equalised when heading home from a corner.
With their tails up, three minutes later the turnaround was complete when Charlie Trustram finished well from the edge of the box.
Even the though the Hatters were reduced to ten men following a late red card for Dominic Martins for a second bookable offence, Lawless’ side held on to start 2024 with three points.
