Rob Edwards gave the media an update ahead of Friday’s 11pm transfer deadline at his Thursday press conference.

The boss confirmed the Hatters are working on incoming activity and there are no live bids for any player.

In the past week the Town have added Mark McGuinness, Liam Walsh and Tom Krauß to the squad while Chiedozie Ogbene departed for Ipswich on Wednesday.

Speaking ahead of Friday’s Championship clash with QPR, the manager said: “As we stand right now we are not in receipt of any live offers of any members of our squad.

“There’s been a lot of noise, a lot interest as the rumour mill goes. That can be unsettling for people and I don’t think it helps, but as it stands there’s nothing.

“We’re working ourselves or one or two bits. I won’t name names or go through individuals. If we do that, it might affect one or two smaller things but the recruitment team are working hard in the office on a couple.”

For the second successive season the transfer window falls on a night in which the Hatters are in action.

“It’s not ideal trying to plan,” said Edwards. “Planning on deadline night when we have a great isn’t easy but we’re working on things.

“I’m not going to be on the phone on the touchline, that’s for sure. I’ll be leaving that to the recruitment team.

“But if anything doesn’t happen then I’m still content with where we are. I think we’ve got a strong group.”
