The Welshman was one of five managers nominated for the Sir Alex Ferguson Trophy, along with Nottingham Forest's Steve Cooper, Premier League winner Pep Guardiola, Eddie Howe of Newcastle United and Klopp.

Jones led Luton to a superb sixth place in the Sky Bet Championship this term, before suffering disappointment in the play-off semi-final against Huddersfield Town.

Via Instagram, Nathan said: "Felt very humbled to be nominated for such a prestigous award at the League Managers Association awards last night. It has topped off an amazing year. Time for a little break and then to go again."
