MATCH PREVIEW: LUTON TOWN V STEVENAGE

The Town take on Stevenage at Kenilworth Road tomorrow as Nathan Jones' team look to extend their superb run in Sky Bet League Two – with the game taken as another opportunity to help promote awareness for Prostate Cancer UK.

There's plenty going on around the ground, as the charity will not only have bucket collections to raise money, the Hatters have another Family Fun Day event on, with Stevenage supporters invited along to enjoy the activities.

Top of the form table having picked up five wins from their last six games, the Hatters could move to within a point of table toppers Exeter City should they pick up three points against Boro and the Grecians lose tomorrow.

Darren Sarll's side head to the joint third most difficult place in the EFL to get points – with Jones' team's record of five wins from six at Kenilworth Road, joint with League One's Rotherham United's home record, behind only Wigan Athletic and Shrewsbury Town who top Sky Bet League One.

THE GAFFER SAYS:

On the Hatters' record against Stevenage: "It can't be any worse. They have done very well when they've come to us and when we have gone there. I can't say we have played badly in all the games because we haven't, but we haven't got the result and that's the thing we have got to put right.

On former Town players now representing the Boro: "I think they have got a number of them. Jonathan Smith I would imagine will get a fantastic reception here. He was a great player for this football club and an exemplary professional. I hope he does get a great reception, as he doesn't justify anything else."

On having all but one player available tomorrow: "We have got a full squad available apart from Dan Potts serving his suspension. I have got big decisions to make in terms of everyone coming back and there's some big players in there. So whatever happens we will be strong.

"I think we are going to have to have some big players on the bench if we keep everyone fit. We think we have got a big squad, a good, solid, real strong squad. With the group we have there are some wonderful players in there. The ones we have got coming back you would call big hitters really.

"It's a tough decision, but you prefer those to say Morecambe for example, the side nearly picked itself. We want that competition for places and we have got that, so we are happy."

WHO?

Unfortunate to miss out on the League Two play-offs last season, Stevenage are pushing for a place in the top seven this season, as they look to end what will be their four-year absence from the third tier come the end of this term.

In his second full season in charge, Darren Sarll is a hit at the Lamex Stadium – and with his side in good form, the supporters' affection for the former Hitchin Town and Dunstable Town player is only growing. With six wins from 12 league games so far, he has certainly got them off to a good start.

WHEN AND WHERE?

Kick-off is at 3pm on Saturday 14th October at Kenilworth Road.

Tickets are still available for purchase from the LTFC Ticket Office at category B prices.

LAST TIME WE PLAYED?

The last meeting between the Town and the Boro saw Sarll's side complete the double over the Hatters. That 2-0 loss in March followed on from the 2-1 defeat at the Lamex Stadium back in August 2016.
