Match Preview | Harrogate Town (H)

The Hatters welcome Harrogate Town to Kenilworth Road on Sunday for the Emirates FA Cup third round fixture.

Kicking-off 2022 against League Two opposition, Nathan Jones’ side will hope to recapture their form in early December prior to match postponements.

There will be no replays in the third round this year and in the event of a draw at full-time, extra-time and penalties will be played.

The opposition:

Now into their second campaign in the fourth division of English football after a 17th place finish last term, Harrogate Town are looking to build on that finish and are currently doing just that – occupying 11th position in the table.

The Sulphurites beat Wrexham and Portsmouth in the first and second round of the Emirates FA Cup this season to get to this stage and will be looking to stage an upset against their Championship opponents.

Sunday’s fixture will be the first time in their respective histories in which the two sides have met, setting up an intriguing third round tie in the competition.
