Loan Watch | Debuts for Rea and Moloney

Midfielder Glen Rea made his debut for Wigan Athletic over the weekend in a 2-0 defeat against Stoke City.

Rea, who joined Wigan on Deadline Day, played the full 90 minutes at the Bet365 Stadium as the Latics exited the Emirates FA Cup at the fourth round stage.

Elsewhere, there was a debut for Matt Moloney at Braintree Town following the end of his work experience loan at Hitchin Town. The defender made an immediate impression with the supporters too, awarded Man of the Match via their Twitter account for playing his part in keeping a clean sheet against Eastbourne Borough.

The Iron are back in National League South action this evening against Chelmsford City as they look to extend the gap between themselves and Billericay Town at the bottom of the table.

Ben Stevens also headed out on loan at the weekend, joining Hitchin Town on a work experience loan, but was an unused substitute in their 2-1 defeat against Coalville Town.

We would like to wish both Matt and Ben the best of luck for their respective loan spells as the season continues.

In League One, Elliot Lee was an unused substitute for the second league match in a row as Charlton Athletic beat AFC Wimbledon 3-2, but could be in contention for their away game against Bolton Wanderers this evening.

Sam Beckwith and Dion Pereira meanwhile were not included in their respective loan squads for the weekend matches.
