The midfielder – who has 14 international caps to his name – will hope to be involved in group stage matches against Switzerland, Turkey and Italy respectively when the tournament begins in just under two weeks’ time.
Their first match takes place on Saturday 12th June in Baku against Switzerland, and four days later they take on Turkey, also in Baku. Finally, the group concludes with a match against two-time winners Italy in Rome.
Unfortunately Tom Lockyer lost out in his bid to be included following the ankle surgery that brought an early end to his league campaign in February.
We are all gutted for Tom because we know how many hours he’s put in working alone with the sport science team here in recent weeks, and during the five-day training camp with the Welsh squad in the Algarve this past week.
But he’ll be ready to hit the ground running when pre-season starts on June 24th and he has many more tournaments to look forward to with his country, including next year's World Cup.
Good luck to Joe for the upcoming Euro matches!
