HELP HELEN RAISE FUNDS FOR SUPPORTERS' CHARITY KEECH HOSPICE CARE

Luton Town uber-supporter Helen Gatward freely admits to hating running, but that's not stopping her from putting on her trainers and taking on the Love Luton 10k for Keech Hospice Care on Sunday.

The Luton based charity were selected as the supporters' charity of the year at the start of the season, and several supporters have already come forward with some terrific ideas to help raised funds for their fantastic cause.

And Helen's decision to run the Love Luton 10k is no exception. To date, she's already raised the fantastic sum of £1,480 via her JustGiving page thanks to the generosity of her sponsors, and we're sure our supporters can help Helen reach her target of £1,750 before the race begins on Sunday.

Helen explains her motivation on her fundraising page:

"Those who know me know that I love to keep fit and regularly go to the gym, but running isn’t something I find easy or enjoy doing - at all! I have even adopted the nickname Helen ‘Hates Running’ Gatward because I hate running so much; I really struggle to run any kind of distance, I can't pace myself and I also get bored after a couple of minutes of trying to run!

Having been a Luton Town fan since the age of 10, I always like to get involved where I can and am now on the committee for Luton Town Supporters' Trust. When the opportunity was suggested to represent LTST at the Love Luton 10k run at the end of October and to raise much needed funds for Keech Hospice Care – who have been chosen as the ‘Luton Town Supporters' Charity of the Year’ for the 2017/2018 season – it was an opportunity I couldn't turn down, especially as I actively volunteer for the charity at events throughout the year.

Keech Hospice Care is a Bedfordshire-based charity that provides care for both adults and children with terminal and life-limiting illnesses, and offers support to their families. To provide these services and continue their vital work, Keech needs to fundraise in the region of £5.7m each and every year."

We'd like to wish Helen the very best of luck for her run - please do show your support to and make a donation if you can, which will go directly to helping Keech Hospice Care.
