The Trust work across Luton, having 3,500 individual engagements every single week through their programmes delivered with local schools, colleges, youth groups and voluntary organisations.
This includes delivering over 70 hours of free curriculum PE that reaches over 200 school children each day – including those at Weatherfield Academy today.
Members of the Community Trust ran a carousel of events at the Academy, working on a variety of technical aspects within sport and creating a fun and engaging environment that will hopefully encourage the pupils to get involved with a regular sporting activity if they aren’t already.
James Hatch, the Trust’s School and Sport Manager said: "Working with Weatherfield Academy to promote the EFL Day of Action today provides our staff with enormous pleasure to see the smiles and enjoyment in the pupils' faces.
"We have been working with the Academy throughout the academic year and to see the improvement in the pupils’ development has been fantastic.
(After visiting Weatherfield Academy, the Community Trust headed over to playfootball.net, where they hosted a year 3 and year 4 tournament)
"It has been down to the hard work and dedication from the teachers at Weatherfield Academy and the Luton Town coaches with the planning and delivery for each individual pupil to make the sessions as diverse and inclusive as possible.”
An integral part in the fabric of the football club, the Trust runs many projects, with a focus on health, education and inclusion.
Whether this is the Ability Counts Premier League, the Luton Street League or Community Adult Learning, the Trust does an incredible job of working with local people from a variety of backgrounds and different ages.
