Speaking to the press this afternoon, the gaffer revealed that the right-back is the only absentee heading into a busy run of games towards the New Year.

After Dan Potts was forced off the pitch late in the game against Bournemouth, Jones was quick to say: “We have no injury worries really. James Bree is the only one that is out, he’s a week away but the others we have a fully fit squad to choose from.

“The others have all trained and we’re going to need that because there are three games in a week and we’re going to need the squad.”

Glen Rea can be called upon once more after serving his one-game suspension versus the Cherries, so too can Pelly-Ruddock Mpanzu and Martin Cranie, who were both a card away from a ban.

“They have got through the spell because they were both on four and that gives us a real strong group to pick from. Glen wasn’t available because of the booking but now we have a clean bill of health apart from Bree.”

Nathan also revealed he has not yet made a decision as to who may start in goal at the Madejski Stadium, with Simon Sluga now fit and available for selection.

“It is all part and parcel. It’s good competition and we have that. Simon has been number one and has done very well for us, Shea has come in and done what he always does.

“A real good goalkeeper, someone we can go to at any point.  Whether we continue with that or bring Simon back, that is something we will decide but I’m very happy with James so there is no urgency to do it.”

The manager also hopes the Hatters can end their last away trip of 2020 on a high as his team are without a goal on their travels in the last four outings.

“At the end of last year we were excellent, we were outstanding away from home and now we’re trying to evolve a little bit.

“We’re trying to be a little bit more proactive than we were because we know it was about results at the end of last year. Now we’re trying to evolve a little bit but look, we want to improve our away form.

“I think we have won three away from home and I felt we definitely should have got something away at Middlesbrough. It is not disastrous form, but we would like to pick up a few more wins because we do pick up points away from home, it’s just we would like to pick up a few more wins.”
