Kioso, 21, made an instant impact with the Trotters and was highly regarded by the club and supporters during the four months he spent at the University of Bolton Stadium.
But whilst Martin Cranie nurses an injury, the gaffer believes it was essential to bring the former Hartlepool United man back to Kenilworth Road.
“We need a bit of cover in that area, but the thing was that this was always the plan for him and Gaby, getting them back in our environment for a little while and then assessing them.
“He’s had a real good loan up at Bolton and we’re delighted with his progress, and he might still go back out, he might still go back there, it’s just we’re just assessing him a little bit, getting him back involved with us for a few weeks and then going from there.
“He’s done well, he’s been looked after, we were very careful on the club we chose because we had a lot of interest in him, but we kept him around for a long period, we kept Bolton there because we believed it would be a good loan for him.
“I know certain people there and the new manager has a good record going in, so we’re delighted that he was looked after and he enjoyed it.
“It’s not beyond the realms that he’ll go back out there, but right now he’s back involved in our fold and that’s what always was the plan.”
On the other hand, Jones spoke on behalf of players who may require a loan spell away from Kenilworth Road during the transfer window, adding that Brendan Galloway maybe one of those.
“Brendan needs a loan, he’s not played a lot of football in recent seasons and he needs that, through no fault of his own he got injured here and the old manager brought them here and fully expected to use him and when he got injured, it’s very unfortunate.
“He’s worked so hard to get back, he’s a real good lad around the place, I thought he did very well, considering the amount of time he’s been out, to play a good Reading side and did very well.
“I was delighted with him, but I think he needs a loan now as there will be decisions to be made come the end of the season and he wants to be in the best position possible.”
And looking ahead to tomorrow night’s game against Queens Park Rangers, the manager is keen for his side to continue their superb home form – a run that currently sees the Hatters unbeaten in their last seven matches in all competitions.
“I hope we can continue that. It is a real shame because in the past, midweek games at the Kenny with the fans have been outstanding occasions, they really have. Massive, massive nights there in terms of wins and performances.
“When the momentum builds at home it is really good and we have had some good games this year and it is a shame it hasn’t been a full house.
“We want to continue to build that because we need to pick up our away form, but if our away form can pick up, and we can continue our home form, then we will be in a good position.”
