The 28-year-old scored his 14th goal for the club on his 99th appearance and had given Town the lead at Kenilworth Road, before Blackburn swiftly replied with an equaliser three minutes later.
“I thought we started really well,” Berry admitted. “Even through the whole game really, we performed really well. We worked on our attacking shape and it was end-to-end at times, entertaining also. If there was a full house here, they would have enjoyed it I would have thought but it was a good game.”
His deft touch was enough to beat Thomas Kaminski from close range and the midfielder said: “I work well with Collo up there, I’ve seen he has picked me out and I’ve just got my toe there and nicked it!"
A point against Rovers was enough to cement Town’s 10th position in the Sky Bet Championship and that follows a two-week international break, in which Berry believes the team produced a lot of good work.
"It is quite relentless, Saturday and Tuesday like I said. It freshens it up and now we have quite a hard period again but we’re ready, we’ve had a good break and we want to kick on.
“We’ve had a good two weeks, the gaffer has been working on our shape going forward because we’ve always looked solid but if we can try and get a few more goals, we tried today and we got one but we looked real positive up there.
“We’ve got a real strong squad and if you’re not performing well, you will get taken out. Just got to make sure you keep performing well, doing things right off the pitch and hopefully play as many as you can.
“We’ve got a lot of strength and depth, Kaz comes in, a load of different players. It doesn’t really change the quality of the team, anyone can come in and we all look strong.”
Luke Berry could make his 100th appearance for the Hatters if selected to play against Birmingham City on Tuesday night and spoke of his enjoyment playing for the club.
“I’ve had my ankle problem and things like that so it’s good really. It’s my fourth season as well so that’s not too bad!
"I love it here, I love the group of players, unfortunately the fans aren’t here but I love the fans, the atmosphere they bring is fantastic, the sooner they get back, the better.”
