Town came from behind through Matty Pearson's first-half strike and despite having the lion’s share of chances and possession, were unable to find a second goal at Kenilworth Road.
“Really, really upset that we haven’t come away with the three points tonight, Dewsbury-Hall expressed. “I thought we played really well. We dominated from start to finish, of course there was one or two moments where they had a couple of chances, but you are going to get that in a game.
“I thought on the whole, we were much the better team and deserved the three points. It is really frustrating that we haven’t come away with the three points, but we can be proud of the performance, knowing that we are competing at a really high level against good Championship teams. That is going to take us in good stead going forward.”
The point extends the teams' current unbeaten run to four matches in the Sky Bet Championship and saw them move up to 9th position in the table, prompting good reason for the supporters to be content about the campaign so far, the midfielder believes.
“I hope the fans are optimistic and happy about the way we played tonight because as I say, we are competing at a really good level in the Championship.
"We’re not here to be scrapping at the bottom of the table, we’ve got really big aspirations for this season and I think we are showing that.
“We’re not losing games, we should be winning a lot of games. I think more clinical edge in the final third and we will be winning games.
“That is going to come, the more we play together, it is going to click and the fluidity is going to keep coming. We’re really optimistic heading into the next few weeks.”
On a personal note, the 22-year-old was voted as Man of the Match for the second game running, which he added was ‘really pleasing’.
“That is what I wanted to do when I came in and it’s really nice that the fans are backing me and seeing what I can do on the pitch. Every time I go out on the pitch I try and do as well as I can and make as big an impact as I can, so really pleasing. I just want to keep continuing this form and then hopefully add some more wins and get up that table.”
Manager Nathan Jones was extremely complementary of the midfielder, suggesting: “that’s as good a midfield performance as I’ve seen at this football club.”
In response to that, Dewsbury-Hall smiled and said: “That’s really good to hear. Obviously as a player you want to impress the manager as much as possible because he is the person that is picking the team and it shows that when he has belief in you, it gives you so much confidence going into every game because you’ve got the coaches backing you, got the players respect and it allows you to express yourself.
“Everyone knows that in football, confidence is a massive thing so when your confidence is high, that’s when you play your best stuff. As I said, our confidence is really high at the moment and maybe we’re just not getting the rub of the green with one or two things. When that clicks we will be really happy and we will be up there.”
Moving forward, the Hatters will look to continue their good form during Saturday’s away trip to Cardiff, a game Dewsbury-Hall has branded as a ‘difficult test.’
“They’re a really good Championship team, they invest in good quality players so it is going to be a different test than it was tonight but we will analyse it this week, put a good couple of days training in then we will go there full of confidence knowing that we can definitely get a result away from home.”
