On a personal note, it was a good return between the sticks as Shea was equal to the home sides’ best chances, preserving his clean-sheet and Luton’s eighth of the Sky Bet Championship campaign.

However, it was frustrating for the ‘keeper and his teammates that they didn’t leave the City Ground with three points after failing to find the back of the net.

“Everyone is annoyed we didn’t get the three points because we deserved it,” Shea commented post-match. “I thought we played really well especially first half. I never felt under threat at all, even when they had 11 men. The only time they had a real threat was when they had a free-kick in the last minute.

“We work hard on the training ground, Elijah takes penalties every single day and it just hasn’t happened for him today which is one of those things. We will keep sticking at it, keep working hard and hopefully our performances will earn the points they deserve.”

From a personal perspective, Shea was keen to explain just how much he enjoyed being back out on the pitch.

“I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was great to be back out there and even better to keep a clean sheet. It has been a long time and it has been frustrating because I’m like any player, I want to play.

“To be fair Simon has been brilliant, he has done really well and I just have to be ready when I’m called upon. It’s not the first time I’ve done it, I’m used to it, and I’ll be ready when I get my chance.”
