Despite having a host of chances, the hosts took their opportunities in either half and condemned the Hatters to a third defeat in four matches, a run they will look to end when they face Nottingham Forest on Tuesday.
After a positive opening, QPR added an early opener which Lansbury admitted ‘killed’ the early momentum.
“We stayed in the game but we need to capitalise and take our chances. It is disappointing we haven’t scored one or two tonight, then they scored the second which opened up the game a bit more, but we felt like we were chasing the game. We still had chances and we’re creating chances, so it is not like we’re not making them, we just need to take them.
"We need a bit of composure in the final third,” Lansbury continued. “Just take a touch and stroke it in instead of trying to smash everything in. the boys are in the right positions, creating chances and the ball will drop one game and we will score four or five.”
With limited time to recover, the players will be wanting to put things right immediately when they travel to the City Ground in midweek, which is especially the case for the former Nottingham Forest player.
“I’m looking forward to going back there, will probably get booed but I’ll take that if we go and get three points! I loved my time there, I was with Chris Cohen there and it is a nice place to go back to, a place that holds a good place in my heart.”
