Project

Luton Town Football Club was founded in the 19th century (1885). With over one hundred and thirty years of continuous delivery it's by far the best example of living history in the local community, regularly attracting more people on to its premises than any other local organisations of comparable age. The club's heritage is one of the most important historical, cultural, and community aspects of a local area encompassing more than 210,000 people.

The project will directly work in partnership with local primary schools across Luton to enable young people to learn about the sporting history of the town, creating a set of 'Kids Curated' exhibitions, a schools Learning Pack, an oral history programme, and also identify ways by which to better collect, preserve, and share this heritage in the future.

You will need good experience of delivering community heritage activities to community and school audiences, an innovative approach to delivering history in new ways, excellent people management skills, demonstrable ability to work on a time limited project and an ability to work across different activities simultaneously.

Interviews for this role will be held in Luton during August and a full job description can be requested from Head of Trust kevin.thoburn@lutontown.co.uk for the position that will offer an annual salary of up to £25,000.00.

This is a fixed term 1 year appointment funded by the National Heritage Lottery Fund.
