Midweek goalscorer Callum McManaman starts in place of Izzy Brown and Andrew Shinnie makes his first start since Hull, as Jacob Butterfield drops to the bench.
Shinnie will come up against his brother, Scotland international midfielder Graeme, who makes his first start for the Rams since his summer move from Aberdeen, while former Town defender Curtis Davies captains the hosts.
The Hatters can stretch their unbeaten run to three games with a positive result at Pride Park today, while the hosts are hoping to improve on their 16th position – one place and one point above Town at kick-off.
