Talking at his pre-match press conference, Edwards said: “Chieo was feeling a few bits, a kick on his foot and a tight hamstring.
“We’ve monitored his load this week to try and look after him.
“He’s been in the wars as a few of them have, but he trained today [Friday].”
One man who won’t be involved at Old Trafford will be Cauley Woodrow after the frontman picked up a calf knock in training.
It adds another man to the treatment table which includes Dan Potts, Mads Andersen, Albert Sambi Lokonga, Reece Burke, Luke Berry and Amari’i Bell.
“Amari’s progressing well, he still won’t be quite ready for this one, so the squad will be very, very similar to the Liverpool game,” said the manager.
“We are getting bodies back quite quickly after the international break which I think will be a real positive for us.”
Jordan Clark returned to the Town bench for the Liverpool squad and Edwards hopes the midfield can continue his recovery from an ankle injury sustained at Bochum in August.
“Clicks has had a full week again, he’d only had a couple of days before that one and it was almost needs must with him being around,” said the manager.
“He’s had a full week’s work, it’s brilliant to have him back and he’s already shown what he’s about in training, so really pleased to have him back.”
