The Republic of Ireland international, who has not featured since he represented his country back in March, has trained for the last two days ahead of Saturday’s fixture at London Stadium.
“We’ll try and get him involved,” said manager Rob Edwards at his pre-match press conference. “He has only had a couple days of training, but we want impactful players back involved and he’s one of them.
“Chieo has been a player we’ve missed. The training he has done has been on matchday minus two and one which aren’t the most intense of sessions but when he’s on it, in those wide areas, he can cause anyone problems.”
It has been a positive week in the camp, despite coming away with just one point against Everton last Friday night.
“We’ve had some positive meetings with the players off the back of the last game, which adds belief in the squad. I thought we were excellent and unlucky not to get the three points, but we took positives from the game to go forward with that.
“It’s the strongest squad we’ve had available for a while, and it is as strong as we can be now going into the last couple of games.
“Our substitutions in games are always positive to try and take risks, that’s been our mantra since day one. We finished strongly against Everton, so we hope to continue that.”
None of our other injured players are set to be back in action this weekend, however recent returnee Elijah Adebayo has had a positive full week of training after making his first start since February last week.
