Luton Town goal-scorer Tahith Chong was proud of the Town’s performance following the Premier League draw with Liverpool at Kenilworth Road.

Our number 14 came off the bench to score his first ever Premier League goal after joining us in the summer.

“I’m massively proud of the team,” said Chong. “The way everyone performed was great. The fans were brilliant and really dragged us through the game.

“We were unfortunate not to get the three points, but Liverpool are a world class team and they were going to keep coming.

“The moment when I scored was amazing, I think it was deserved for the fans, the way that they supported us every week, even when results haven’t been coming our way, that’s brilliant for them.

“Every time you come off the bench for the team, you want to make an impact and help the team out anyway you can.

“Not only for me, but everyone whether you are on the bench or starting, everyone wants to play their part and it’s so important that we have that.

“As a team, today it was my turn and next week it might be someone else. At Nottingham Forest it was Eli’s turn to come off the bench, that’s something important for us going forward just to try and help the team as much as you can.

“The goal doesn’t happen for me if Ross doesn’t do a brilliant turn, then Issa plays the perfect ball, but it was also everyone defending the corner too, so that’s compliment to the boys. I wouldn’t have scored without them.

“We have a great bunch of lads, everyone was so welcoming straight away. Even the staff and the way they prepare us for the games has been brilliant, we’ve grown and improved every single game and it’s good to see.”
