SUPPORT KEECH HOSPICE CARE THIS AFTERNOON

"I don't think Keech Hospice Care can do any more than what it's doing - it's doing a great thing."

"I thought Keech Hospice Care was only about end of life care and it would just be full of cancer patients but it's not. What I didn't realise was just how much the charity does for people like me. Keech even offered support to my family and friends - that's pretty amazing for a charity." Rob Figgins, Keech Hospice Care patient.

Life-long Luton Town fan Rob was cared for by Luton based charity, Keech Hospice Care after being diagnosed with cancer in April 2017. He also chose to spend his final days at the hospice where he died last year.

As a charity, Keech Hospice Care provides free, specialist care for adults in Luton and south Bedfordshire, and children from Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Milton Keynes with life-limiting and terminal illnesses, as well as vital support for their family and friends.

Keech is special - it is one of only a few hospices in the UK which supports both children and adults. Its excellent care is not just provided at the hospice itself but in hospitals, schools, care or the family home – wherever its support is needed the most.

The charity offers emotional, spiritual and practical support, and its care does not stop at death. For these families, when it seems as though nothing will be the same again, Keech Hospice Care is there to help.

"Rob loved Luton Town Football Club and Keech Hospice Care equally," says Rob's wife Gill.

"Every week Rob looked forward to spending the day at Keech's Palliative Care Centre, talking to others who knew what he was going through and having reflexology. He received excellent care and support from all Keech Hospice Care's fantastic nurses."

As a charity, Keech relies on the support of its community for around 70 per cent of its funding. It needs to raise over £5.7 million every year for its survival.
