THE GAFFER SAYS:

On expected game time for Town players at Boreham Wood: "It was 60 minutes at Hitchin for some players, and it will be reversed on the weekend. Then we get everyone up to speed so they are all up to an hour in game time, and then we've got just over two weeks for the prep then."

WHO?

The National League outfit comfortably maintained their position in the division for the second consecutive season in the 2016/17 term, following on from their promotion from National League South in 2015 via the play-offs.

Managed by the youngest boss in the top five tiers, 31-year-old Luke Garrard spent a large part of his playing career at Meadow Park before taking over as boss after Ian Allinson's departure in October 2015.

He helped move Boreham Wood away from danger and kept them up, before guiding them to an 11th placed finish last season.

WHEN AND WHERE?

Kick-off is at 3pm on Saturday 22nd July at Meadow Park. The address is; Meadow Park, Broughinge Road, Borehamwood, Herts, WD6 5AL

THE GAFFER SAYS:

On playing Hitchin in midweek: “Hitchin were very competitive. I’d normally say I was disappointed with our first half performance, but a lot of credit has to go to Hitchin and how they went about their work – and that’s why I prefer to do a game like this rather than an in-house match.
