The 23-year-old follows James Justin in penning a new long-term deal with the Hatters this week as Nathan Jones' side set their sights on winning promotion from Sky Bet League Two this season.

Pelly, who is nearing the fourth anniversary of his initial loan move to Kenilworth Road from West Ham during the 2013-14 Conference-winning season, said: "I have been here a while now and I am delighted to have extended my contract.

"I can't wait to get started again this Saturday against Yeovil and hopefully we can get promotion this season.

"There's a similar vibe around the place in terms of our confidence in getting out of the division as to when I first arrived. Last year was a bit of a disappointment at the end, but we know we can turn it around."

Pelly made 52 appearances as the Town finished fourth last term, and he credits the arrival of Head of Sports Science Jared Roberts-Smith last summer for helping him put his fitness problems behind him.

"My seasons here have been disrupted by injury up until last year when the gaffer brought in Jared, who has helped me a lot," says Pelly. "I was able to put a lot of games together last season and I really want to push on and do the same this time around."

The ex-Hammer says that Town boss Jones and the summer signings the Welshman has made were a big factor in him putting pen to paper.

"The gaffer was a massive reason as to why I have decided to extend my contract," he continued. "He was at a big club at Brighton and he made the decision to come to another big club here.

"He's helped me develop a lot and the team as well. I have a lot of belief in him and we are going to move forward together.

"He has brought in quite a few midfielders this summer and I can definitely learn something from each of them. Alan McCormack and Andrew Shinnie have both played in the Championship – both with different styles – and I certainly can pick up different things from watching their games. It certainly made what was an easy decision even easier."

Having made his loan move in November 2013 before signing permanently the following January, the north Londoner has now clocked up 118 appearances for the Town, netting seven goals.

We look forward to seeing you in action in an orange shirt for the foreseeable future Pelly!
