MICK NOMINATED FOR MANAGER OF THE MONTH!

Hatters boss Mick Harford has been shortlisted for the Sky Bet League One manager of the month award for a third successive month!

Chief recruitment officer Mick was also on the shortlist for both January and February, the month in which his initial spell as interim manager was extended until the end of the season.

The Town's remarkable run of form in the third tier has continued, with victories over Rochdale, Bradford, Doncaster and Bristol Rovers and draws with Plymouth and Gillingham seeing the side retain top spot throughout March and into April, with the unbeaten run currently standing at a club record 28 matches.

This month he is up against Charlton's Lee Bowyer, AFC Wimbledon boss Wally Downes and Oxford's Karl Robinson - three managers he will also do battle with in the dugout over the remaining month of the season!

This is what league sponsors had to say about all four contenders:

Lee Bowyer (Charlton Athletic)

It is a tribute to his quiet management style that Charlton are still flying under the radar despite sitting fifth in League One. His players trust in his messages and returned the favour by gaining 11 points from five unbeaten games.

Wally Downes (AFC Wimbledon)

Knew when he took over that results might worsen before they improved, but had the belief that his side would come good. They did so in March, winning four games out of six, picking up 13 points and spreading hope that they may avoid relegation.

Mick Harford (Luton Town)

It is too simplistic to suggest that he has a team which runs itself as Luton continue to charge towards automatic promotion. Motivating his players to maintain their standards, he led them to a 14-point haul from six unbeaten matches.

Karl Robinson (Oxford United)

The upturn in his side’s consistency which he has been seeking all season finally arrived with 13 points gained from six games. Most admirable has been his outward confidence which has continued to shield his players.

The winning manager will be announced on Friday, having been decided by a judging panel comprising former Ipswich Town manager George Burley, Sky Sports’ EFL League expert Don Goodman, EFL Senior Media Manager Rob Meaden, League Managers’ Association Director Olaf Dixon and Sky Bet EFL Trader Ivor Davies.

Well done to Mick, his staff and the team - and good luck!
