MICK HARFORD: "WE TAKE ABSOLUTELY NOTHING FOR GRANTED"

Town boss Mick Harford has said that his side haven't achieved their goal yet as they look to close in on an automatic promotion spot in Sky Bet League One.

Eight points from their remaining five games at this stage of the campaign would confirm a place in the Championship for next season, but big Mick explained his side are taking it game-by-game as they hope to extend their unbeaten run to 29 games this Saturday when the face Charlton Athletic.

Harford said: "We haven't achieved anything at the moment. Every game we treat individually, every team we treat with the same respect. We know every game is going to be tough, it's going to be tough to get over the line, there's going to be ups and downs and until we have achieved that, then we will keep working hard and we will work our socks off every day.

"We know if we win eight points then we get promoted, but we go into every game the same. We try and win every game, we take absolutely nothing for granted, we know there are going to be twists and turns.

"We're not taking anything for granted and until those points are achieved we wont say 'we're going to get promoted', we will just keep our feet on the ground and keep working hard.

"There's some good teams in and around us, you have got four or five really good teams. Ourselves, Pompey, Sunderland, Barnsley and Charlton are vying for the two spots at the moment. So it's a real competitive top end of the table in my opinion.

"There's some really good players who you are playing against. But we can only look after ourselves and that's all we can do. We can just put out the best team that we believe can beat a team on a Saturday and hope other teams can do us favours.

"There's some good teams out there though and it's going to be very competitive towards the end of the season. There will be twists and turns all over the place."
