MICK HARFORD PLEASED TO HAVE A NUMBER OF PLAYERS BACK FROM INJURY

Town boss Mick Harford is pleased to have had a number of players back in contention the past week after having had a fairly long injury list until recently.

The Hatters were particularly short in the striking department, with Kazenga LuaLua, Harry Cornick and Elliot Lee out injured, whilst Danny Hylton was suspended.

All four are now available and are vying for a starting place this weekend for the Town's game against Rochdale.

Harford said: "Kaz has been great around the place. It took him a long time to get himself into the team, he came into the team and then did ever so well for us. He made a big contribution to what we are trying to achieve here. We're delighted with Kaz, hopefully he'll play a big part towards the end of the season.

"Elliot has trained hard, he wasn't out for so long, he only had about two and a half, three weeks out. It wasn't long term. He's got back to fitness pretty quickly. We all know Elliot's ability and what he's all about, so he's back to full training. He came on in the game on Saturday and made a contribution to the game. They're all fit and available."

Hylton hasn't found the back of the net since October, but Harford said that Danny's training levels haven't dropped off.

"Danny's working hard in training, always at it, always flat out in training, like most players are," the former England international explained. "A goal would be great for Danny, a goal would be good for anyone basically as it gives confidence to you. He's not shy of confidence Danny and he's training, very, very well. We've just done some finishing drills this morning and he was flying, so we're expecting our front three to hopefully contribute and get some goals."

The Town development squad were in action on Tuesday, with a majority of the side made up of youth team players, whilst Marek Stech played in goal.

Harford explained he had the option to play a few senior pros to get minutes, but chose to keep the group together with some important weeks coming up for his side.

"We could have, but we played Marek in the 0-0 down at Southend. It was just we wanted to keep them all together this week because we have got a tough few weeks coming up now. Obviously Saturday and then we play Saturday, Tuesday. Two away games, long journeys. So we just wanted to keep them all together and get ready for that basically.

"A good group environment, we like that. the camaraderie and the spirit and we will do some top-ups with the players who haven't had many minutes, so they will get extra work. Hopefully we will be ready for the weekend and have a real go at this lot."
