Town suffered a 2-0 loss at the hands of Millwall, whilst the Owls were narrowly defeated 2-1 by Brentford.
Nathan Jones’ side will be eager to get back to winning ways and extend the impressive away record the team have amassed since his return in July – losing just twice in seven league matches.

On Sheffield Wednesday threats: “They’ll have a big budget. The strike force they’ve got would probably be our entire budget, so they’re a dangerous side. The fact that they have had points deductions, I’m not competing on that, but they have experienced players and enough quality in the side to hurt Championship sides, established Championship players.
“Patterson, they have Marriott now, who they would’ve had to pay a lot of money for. Jordan Rhodes, who’s established and as prolific a Championship striker as you get. Josh Windass, who they paid a lot of money for, so they’ve got enough threats to hurt you and we have to be wary of that and that’s what people need to remember.”
On Championship unpredictability: “The Championship is so weird. It’s such a weird league that anything can happen in any week. I watched them last night, playing Brentford, and they were very good. Brentford showed real quality, which they can, but apart from that it was a very even game.
“The Championship is such a weird league that someone said to me, ‘you don’t need to do a hell of a lot different and you can lose two on the spin, and you don’t need to do a hell of a lot different and can win those two’, because the margins are so small. We have to make sure we’re on the right side of the margins.”
Who?
Sheffield Wednesday have plenty of history to their name since they were formed in 1867. The Owls have lifted the FA Cup three times but more recently they won the Football League Cup in 1991.
Early in the 1900’s they were First Division champions four times, but they have been absent from the top-flight for 20 years now.
The manager – Garry Monk
Garry Monk joined the club in 2019 following previous management spells with Swansea City, Leeds United, Middlesbrough and Birmingham City.
A former Premier League centre-back during his playing days, Monk made the switch to management in 2014 and last season, led the Owls to a 16th place finish in the Championship.
Main threat – Josh Windass
After a loan spell with Sheffield Wednesday last season, Josh Windass joined the Owls on a permanent basis in September.
He has started every match in the Championship thus far, scoring once and assisting a goal too. The forward can be deployed on either flank, down the middle behind the striker or leading the line for his team.
When and where?
Kick-off is 3pm at Hillsborough Stadium on Saturday 24th October.
Man in the middle?
The referee for tomorrow’s game is Geoff Eltringham – who last refereed the Hatters in the 2-0 away win against Huddersfield Town in July.
