THE GAFFER SAYS:

On playing Yeovil Town: "A tough one, a really tough one. They'll be right up for it. They will be a very organised side, they will come here to win."It's a very tough start. First games of the season are always difficult, there's always a few freak results. There's always a few things that you don't envisage happening or you don't want to happen.

"What we have got to do is make sure we are disciplined and put on a professional performance and continue the vein that we have had in pre-season, because we have had a very productive pre-season."

On whether former Town player Jake Gray will have a point to prove playing against his old club: "I don't know so much about having a point to prove. He will want to play well against his old club. That's natural. He doesn't have a point to prove, because we know what a good player he is.

"The only reason we allowed Jake to leave is because he got very frustrated by only playing 30 games last season. So that was his choice, not mine. That's fine. We don't stand in anyone's way, if they feel we are holding them back in anyway then there is a conversation to have.

"Jake wanted more game time and I am sure he will get that at Yeovil. I couldn't guarantee that here, but he went with our blessing. He's a lovely lad, I have absolutely no problem with him, he's gone to a good home because Yeovil is a good club."
