Three league wins from four in January for Nathan Jones' team has seen them move nine points clear at the top of League Two.
Those results have highlighted not only the depth of Jones' squad, but the belief as well, having picked up two of those wins with ten men on the field for the majority of the game, whilst also missing the experience of Alan McCormack, Scott Cuthbert, Danny Hylton and Alan Sheehan through injury and suspension.
Wycombe are on a decent run of their own having won their last three on the bounce and five of their last seven. A win for Gareth Ainsworth's side would propel them from fourth place up to second, with the Chairboys the second highest scoring team in the division.
THE GAFFER SAYS:
On facing Wycombe: "You always know you’re going to get a good game from Wycombe, they’re in fantastic form themselves. The manager has done fantastically well there.
"They’re perennial play-off and promotion challengers every single year and that shows the job that Gareth is doing. We’re expecting a massively tough game, because every single game we’ve had against them has been that, so I don’t envisage this game being any different."
On doing any transfer business before the window closes: "We'd like to strengthen, if there's an opportunity to strengthen our squad then we will do that. We're in a good position squad wise, we've got good numbers. We've done our work really early over the windows, so we won't be scratching around.
"The difficult thing is trying to improve the squad, because the ones that will improve us significantly, we believe are playing Championship level and then others that we think would improve us, other clubs don't want to let go.
"So we're very happy, we're in a good place. As I said at the beginning of the window, if we get through the window with exactly the same squad we'd be in a good position. But if we can just strengthen it with one or two, then that's a real bonus as well."
On injuries in his squad: "Hylton is in a lot better place than he was last week. He won't be fit for the game, but he's close. McCormack's back in full training, Cuthbert's closer, whether they are for ready for Wycombe is one thing, but we're in a slightly better position than we were.
"If McCormack stays fit then he will be a big boost, but what we don't want to do now is for him to break down again, because that's happened a couple of times. It would be good to have him back and have him involved and ready to impact because it's an important position for us and we brought him in to play games. We've missed him in terms of not having that influence there, so hopefully we can have him back. The experience that we need to complete the job, he has, he's done it, he's been there, so we want to get him back as soon as possible."
"Luke Gambin will be touch and go, whether we risk him or not is another thing as we want him ready for a number of games. So it's difficult to put him back in too early especially with a little ankle roll. He's very close and we'll gauge that and see how he is in the morning."
WHO?
The Chairboys have fairly recent experience of going up a tier having been promoted to League One in 2009 and 2011, both of those campaigns ended in relegation though.
Manager of Wanderers now for over five years, Gareth Ainsworth has had mixed finishes at Adams Park, this no more apparent than in the 2013-14 campaign when his side avoided relegation on goal difference, before finishing in the play-off places the following season.
WHEN AND WHERE?
Kick-off is at 7:45pm on Tuesday 30th January at Kenilworth Road.

PLAYED BEFORE?
Town took all three points in our last meeting, with James Collins scoring late into injury time to secure a 2-1 win at Adams Park back in September after Scott Cuthbert had netted a 90th-minute equaliser. Of the 24 meetings between the two, the Hatters have won 11, drawing nine and only losing four.
