Eight wins in their last ten outings in the third tier has seen the Town climb up to third – their home form comfortably the strongest at this level as well, picking up six more points than any other team (26).
Their run in November saw Jones nominated for Sky Bet League One Manager of the Month, whilst Elliot Lee scooped the player award. You can read more on that by clicking here.
The Cod Army have had mixed results throughout the season, but a 3-0 win against Coventry City in their last league outing highlights what they're able to do on their day.
Now managed by Joey Barton, Fleetwood find themselves in 12th spot in League One, with a points return of 27 from 20 games.
Supporters will be able to purchase a number of homemade products tomorrow including cottage pies and burritos, as well as 'Bad Santa' and 'Good Santa' burgers – definitely worth a try.
Contactless payment will be available around the ground, with some food and drink kiosks operating a card only till to speed up serving times – make sure you take advantage of these.
THE GAFFER SAYS:
On facing Fleetwood: "It's a big game, obviously Joey has got them playing and it will be a tough, tough game, but we're looking forward to it. We've been in wonderful form for the last three months really, especially the last two, so we have got to make sure that continues. We're looking forward to the weekend."
On the Hatters faithful: "You never know how the game is going to go and we need our fans regardless of competition or the way the game is flowing. What we have got to do is make sure we're at it. We have patient fans here. I don't know how Fleetwood are going to setup or how they're going to be coming here. So we might have to be or we might not have to be patient, it might be a different type of game. we're going to need the fans because they're amazing here. We've given them good performances, so hopefully we can do that Saturday."
WHO?
It's difficult to talk about the Cod Army without mentioning their ridiculous climb up the leagues. A North West Counties League Division One side in 2004, they won six promotions in ten years to climb all the way up to League One, where they have resided since 2014.
The club has folded and begun again twice since it's inception in 1908, spending a majority of their existence in the lower reaches of Non-League, mainly the Lancashire Combination League.
Joey Barton was handed his first job as a manager by chairman Andrew Pilley in the summer, after finishing his playing career with Burnley in 2017. Much was made of his appointment, but after an opening day defeat to AFC Wimbledon, the Cod Army went on a seven-game unbeaten run in the league. That run came to an end in mid-September and since then Fleetwood have been particularly inconsistent, losing, drawing and winning in their last three games ahead of today's game.
