The Hatters entertain Accrington Stanley this evening at Kenilworth Road with both sides heading into the fixture in strong form.

Nathan Jones' side have only lost one of their last seven games – a run that has helped lift them to seventh in Sky Bey League One, three points off the play-offs.

Accrington are in just as good a vein of form, winning five of their last six league outings, including an impressive 1-0 away victory at Peterborough United on Saturday.

Town brought an end to Walsall's unbeaten away record on Saturday as Glen Rea and Jorge Grant scored in a 2-0 victory, and a win or draw tonight for the hosts would extend the unbeaten run at Kenilworth Road in the league this season to eight.

John Coleman's team suffered their first away defeat of the campaign at the beginning of the month in a 1-0 loss to Shrewsbury, but barring that result, Stanley have been superb on the road, and setup another tough test for the Hatters this evening.

THE GAFFER SAYS:

On Accrington: "I think people always mention about 'little old Accrington', but they're actually a good team. They've got good players, they've got good coaching staff. They have a structure that they play to that they very rarely change, the players know it.

"They've actually got good players that want to work hard, that want to play for the club. So what more do you want as a manager? They're a good side and he's (John Coleman) doing a great job and I don't think they're overachieving in anyway because they have got real continuity.

"They've won so many games 1-0, that shows that defensively they're very good and they have still got goals – they've got that balance. They've a very good side, so it hasn't surprised me in any way, shape or form. Unless you look at them week-in, week-out and you look at them being classed as 'little old Accrington', you look deeper and you know they're a very good football club with good things right throughout them, so they're a good side, a very good side and it will be a really tough game.

"I can say a load of their stats and I can wax lyrical about them, they're a good side and it will be a tough test. But Walsall were a tough test, others have come here and been a tough test, so we have got to take confidence in that, because we're a good side as well. They're always tight games.

"We had one towards the end of a season where we won 4-1 up there, but apart from that, games have been really tight between us and Accrington since I came here. Even when I came here and they were flying, it was 1-0 and it was a real tight game. we know it's going to be margins, but we have got to make sure we are on the right side of those."

On continuing the home form: "I don't want to lose the game, I hate losing, I don't care who it is against. We're in good form and we want to continue that form. Yes, we had a blip at Barnsley where we weren't as good, that cost a winning streak, but we got straight back on it on Saturday and we want to continue that because we have got some big games coming up."
