Rob Edwards’ side will look to carry on from their positive result against Gillingham in the previous round and their progressive performances in the Premier League.
Gary Caldwell’s Grecians had been going well in League One until their three-goal defeat at Oxford United on the weekend.
The opposition
Exeter City are sitting in the League One play-off places after nine games and advanced to the Carabao Cup third round after overcoming Stevenage on penalties.
The Grecians have stumbled after rotating their squad and losing 9-0 against Reading in the EFL Trophy, then losing 3-0 at Oxford United last Saturday.
Only once have Exeter City beaten a top-flight side in this competition and it is the first meeting between the Hatters and the Grecians in the Carabao Cup.
Words from Rob
“We will make changes, but we want to win, I’ve made that very clear. I’m confident now that with the squad that we’ve got, we have strength and depth.
“We can make one or two changes and still do well in these competitions, so we really value that as well.”
Last meeting
Luton Town were on the summit of League Two after beating Exeter City by a three-goal margin at St James Park in October 2017.
James Collins opened the scoring before Jayden Stockley equalised, then the Hatters took full control with three goals in the first ten minutes of the second half courtesy of Dan Potts, Danny Hylton and Harry Cornick.
