Without defeat since the beginning of September, Nathan Jones' side took top spot after Tuesday night's win at Exeter, which tied with the 7-1 victory over Stevenage on Saturday saw the Hatters scoop the LMA's LG Performances of the Week award for the second time this season.
Crawley on the other hand have only picked up one win in their last five games that sees them currently occupy 17th in the division. They boast a fairly strong defensive record, conceding only 16 goals in their opening 14 games, but are the joint lowest scorers – netting just 12 strikes.
THE GAFFER SAYS:
On taking on Crawley: "It doesn't matter who we play, we are going out to win the next game. History has no affect on it. We have a different focus about us, so we are looking forward to the game.
"Crawley will be a difficult test. They have had a mixed sort of start, but they're a dangerous side and we have to be aware of that. But we are a dangerous team, so I am sure they're going to have to be aware of that too."
On Crawley boss Harry Kewell: "He obviously played at a far higher level than I did! He was a better player than me and has now gone into management and coaching. He went away and did a bit in his native land before he came over here with Watford, but this is obviously his first managerial role.
"It takes time to settle, I am sure he is enjoying it somewhere along the line. It's mental at times and crazy, but he's not someone I have come up against. I have come up against his assistant, Warren Feeney, I know him very well. I like Warren. So I know it will be a difficult game, but I am quite sure they will know that as well."
WHO?
Now in their third season in the fourth tier following on from their relegation from League One, Harry Kewell's side will be hoping to better their previous two finishes of 20th and 19th in this division. The Red Devils have struggled to find the back of the net since last season's top scorer James Collins departed for Kenilworth Road.

The Hatters have few tickets left of their allocation, which comes off sale at 3:30pm this afternoon (Friday 20th October).
Tickets will not be on sale on the day, so supporters are strongly advised not to travel unless they have bought one in advance.
LAST TIME WE PLAYED?
Town last took on Crawley back in February at Kenilworth Road, when Collins gave the visitors the lead on the hour mark. Danny Hylton then netted a brace to ensure the Hatters took all three points in a 2-1 win.
