Following a 1-0 win against AFC Bournemouth, Town will be full of confidence heading into another tough away outing against a side who had to postpone their last two league fixtures due to a COVID-19 outbreak.
Prior to their forced stoppage in play, the Bees defeated Middlesbrough in the FA Cup third round and will look to pile the pressure on the top two with games in hand.

On a tough run of fixtures: "If we look at the games, we have Bournemouth, Brentford and Chelsea in a week. Wonderful, wonderful week to be going and preparing, these are the games we want, they are the games we are proud of. We have to test ourselves, we knew going to Bournemouth wasn’t easy, you have to be at it.
"One person goes to sleep, one person doesn’t do their job, you get punished. Wednesday is exactly the same and Sunday, you would think would be even more so. It’s a great week but a real testing week for the squad and we’re going to relish it."
Who?
The Bees narrowly missed out on promotion to the Premier League last season, following their play-off final defeat against Fulham.
A dangerous side full of talent, Brentford are hoping their six-year stay in the Sky Bet Championship will end this season in the hope that they can achieve promotion this time around.
The manager – Thomas Frank
Thomas Frank, who took charge of the Bees in October 2018 following the departure of Dean Smith, has had a successful time in charge.
In his first full season last term, Brentford finished 3rd and made it to the play-off final but lost out to Fulham at Wembley.
Main threat – Ivan Toney
Brentford’s big money summer signing has been in fine form since joining from Peterborough and with 16 goals to his name, he is currently the joint-top goalscorer in the Sky Bet Championship.
The Hatters will know all about the danger he possesses after he scored in the 3-0 win earlier this season and Town will hope to produce another shut-out performance like they did against Bournemouth.
When and where?
Kick-off is 7pm at the Brentford Community Stadium on Wednesday 20th January.
Man in the middle?
The referee for Wednesday’s match is Stephen Martin – who most recently took charge of the Hatters in the 1-1 draw against Queens Park Rangers at the end of last season.
This term he has officiated 19 matches, dishing out 41 yellow cards but as of yet, no red cards.
Played before?
The two sides met at Kenilworth Road back in October and Brentford were 3-0 victors on the day.
This is the first time the Hatters will play the Bees at the Brentford Community Stadium and will have their eyes on a positive result.
