Volunteers from the Club, and home shirt sponsors JB Developments were busy picking, packing and delivering the bags – destined for local school St Matthews Primary and Luton Foodbank.

The aim of the initiative is to spread a little Christmas cheer at a time of year that can be particularly tough for children and families on low income – or living below the poverty line.

St Matthews has one of the highest numbers of children qualifying for free school meals, while Luton Foodbank provide emergency food packages to people in need in the Town.

The parcels, containing some basic food items as well as confectionary treats and Christmas crackers, have been donated thanks to the generosity of our shirt sponsors; JB Developments, Star Platforms and Ryebridge.

Luton Town Chief Executive Gary Sweet said “We’re proud to be able to chip in and do our bit to help local families. In October, our team helped deliver a weeks-worth of meals during half-term, and we hope initiatives like these might provide some additional support to people in need during these difficult times.”
