Luton Town will kick off their first ever Premier League campaign with an away match at the AMEX Stadium against Europa League side Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday 12th August.

The Hatters have beaten the Seagulls in both of their first division matches against each other and most recently played Albion in the 2009 Johnstone’s Paint Trophy semi-final. Town advanced and won the trophy that season.

The first top-flight fixture at Kenilworth Road since 1992 will be the following weekend against a fellow promoted side, Championship champions Burnley.

On Saturday August 26th, the Hatters travel to Stamford Bridge to reunite with the former World Champions Chelsea, who have appointed Mauricio Pochettino as their new head coach this summer.

Town have played against Chelsea twice in the last three seasons, both in the Emirates FA Cup, including a narrow 3-2 defeat at Kenilworth Road back in March 2022. The Hatters led twice in that fixture, with first half goals scored by Reece Burke and Harry Cornick.

Rob Edwards’ Hatters will then enter the Carabao Cup in the Second Round the following midweek before hosting Europa Conference League winners West Ham United at The Kenny on Saturday 2nd September.

The Hammers last visited Kenilworth Road in a competitive fixture back in March 1994, when Scott Oakes’ famous FA Cup hat-trick fired the Hatters to Wembley for the semi-final.

After the September international break, Luton Town make the short south to Fulham on Saturday 16th September before hosting Wolverhampton Wanderers the following weekend.

The last time the Hatters hosted Wolves, Alex Lawless’ stunning volley was the difference in the FA Cup third round tie as non-league Luton beat Championship Wolves in January 2013.

A trip to Merseyside is next as Town travel to Everton on Saturday 30th September before Luton host their first ‘big six’ side at Kenilworth Road, Tottenham Hotspur visit on Saturday 7th October before another international break.

Two trips to the Midlands follow the break as we head to two former European Cup winners, Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa.

The Hatters beat both of these teams in our last outings against them, a 1-0 Championship victory against Forest in April 2022 and a 3-1 Carabao Cup victory against Villa in August 2016.

Two of England’s powerhouses then play Town, we host Jürgen Klopp’s Liverpool on Saturday 4th November before travelling to the league’s biggest-sized stadium, Old Trafford, to face Manchester United on Saturday 11th November.

After the final international break of 2023, the Hatters host Crystal Palace on Saturday 25th November before we travel to Brentford on Saturday 2nd December.

Our first scheduled midweek fixture under the lights at The Kenny will be against last season’s runners-up Arsenal on Tuesday 5th December, followed by Town hosting the treble winners Manchester City on the following Saturday.

We head south to AFC Bournemouth Saturday 16th December before our winter schedule gets underway, starting with the visit of Champions League side Newcastle United at Kenilworth Road on Saturday 23rd December.

The Hatters then travel to Bramall Lane to play Sheffield United on Boxing Day before returning to the Kenny for another meeting with Chelsea on Saturday 30th December.

The New Year begins with Emirates FA Cup third round action on Saturday 6th January before we travel to Burnley for our first Premier League fixture of 2024.

Rob Edwards’ side play Manchester United and Liverpool back-to-back again in February before travelling to Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and Manchester City in the space of two weeks from March 30th to April 13th.

The Premier League season will conclude at Kenilworth Road on Sunday 19th May as the Hatters host Marco Silva’s Fulham on the final day.

Please note that at present this is a draft fixture list and all dates are subject to change.
