Love Football Protect The Game - A message to supporters

As we approach the end of another season of progress in the Sky Bet Championship, there remains plenty to play for here at Kenilworth Road with a play-off semi-final second leg to look forward to next Tuesday night.

We have been so grateful for your support in the stands at the Kenny this season, and the noise and atmosphere you create is a fundamental part of what makes this famous old ground what it is.

Rob Edwards, his staff and the players are hugely appreciative of the unbelievable backing you have given them and speak regularly of the connection that has helped gain eight wins and a draw from the 11 home matches since Christmas.

We have issued reminders recently that throwing any object onto the field of play, whether at home or away matches, is against the law and will lead to individual prosecution and also the Club being sanctioned by The FA.

This includes smoke devices and pyros, the possession of which in recent weeks has already resulted in supporters being issued with a Club ban from attending matches, as well as being the subject of Police action.

We know that our knowledgeable fanbase understands the need to protect the playing surface that Dickie Bird and his groundstaff have worked on tirelessly this season, but along with other EFL clubs, we must remind you in the interests of safety for everyone inside our stadium, that the pitch is for managers, players and match officials, while the stands are there for you to support the team.

At the end of last season, some Clubs witnessed unsavoury and unwelcome scenes with a small minority of people entering the field of play whilst other fans took to the pitch in celebratory mood. Our own players, staff and fans experienced it first-hand at more than one away ground, with some suffering injury as a result.

Pitch incursions are dangerous and anyone who does encroach onto the playing surface will face strong sanctions that could include a ban from attending matches here at Kenilworth Road and across the country, and as it is a criminal offence, police action.

As the Hull City game is the final home match of the regular league season, the players will be joined by their children immediately after the final whistle in order for you to show your appreciation for what has been another truly memorable campaign.

Please remain in your seat and send the lads off into the play-offs in true Luton style.

We thank you for your constant support and understanding.

Love Football, Protect the Game.
