"I’m delighted to get it over the line. I’ve been waiting for this moment for a long time really, and I’m buzzing to join Luton Town."

Louie Watson is hoping to make a big impact at Kenilworth Road after becoming the Hatters’ fourth summer signing earlier today.

The 20-year-old midfielder admitted he was ‘buzzing’ to join the club and said he has been keeping an eye on the journey from afar in recent years.

“I have been following the club for a while now even when they were in League Two and since they have gone all the way up to the Championship and the play-offs.

"Throughout the last five, six, seven years they have been progressing, they haven’t been at a stand-still once and they have only got better so being here now, I want to add to the team and add to what they’ve got and try and get into the Premier League which is where everyone wants to be."

Watson will join up with the squad ahead of the pre-season trip to Slovenia on Saturday which will be a good opportunity to get to know his new team-mates, though he is familiar with a few faces already.

“I know Reece Burke from West Ham, I know Elliot Thorpe and a few of the others. I have spoken to a few of them and they also seem really nice and it’s a good group to get involved with.

“It will be a good ice-breaker, getting used to everyone and seeing what everyone is like and they get to see what I’m like as a person as well so it will be good to meet the boys and spend some real time with them away.

"I think it should be a good thing and I’m looking forward to being out there really and getting some training in.”
