Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall was ‘really happy’ to make his debut for the Hatters during yesterday’s 1-0 win against Sheffield Wednesday in the Sky Bet Championship.

The Leicester City loanee – who played the full 90 minutes at Hillsborough – helped Town towards a fourth league win of the season, which lifted the team up to 9th place in the table.

The midfielder was happy to seize his chance, coming into the starting line-up as one of four changes from Tuesday’s defeat against Millwall.

“It has been a tough week for the lads, two defeats, but I thought we might have got more out of those games so we’re really happy to come here to this place and get the three points.

“Since I have been in, I’ve been training and waiting for my opportunity. Happy to get it today and hopefully showed what I can do and then I can keep going from here and get some more wins on the board.”

Dewsbury-Hall joined the club on deadline day and has settled in quickly, admitting: “It is a really good bunch in there, really welcoming and they allow me to express myself. They say just get on the ball, do what you can do and try and make things happen. It’s a really good bunch of lads to come into, they have been great with me.”

He started alongside fellow summer addition Joe Morrell in midfield and the pair are hoping to forge a successful partnership as the season continues.

“Obviously me and Joe haven’t known each other for a while but we have been put in there together and we are hoping to get a nice little partnership going.

“We both like to play football, we know what each other are good at so hopefully in the future that can progress and we can have a good little partnership.”

Following the victory against the Owls, Town have home matches against Nottingham Forest and Brentford to look forward to in the coming week. With four wins from their first seven matches, Dewsbury-Hall believes ‘the sky is the limit this year’.

“Personally, I think anything is realistic with this squad. It’s a great, hungry squad, no big egos, no one that doesn’t work hard for the team, so I think the sky is the limit this year.

“We’ve had a pretty good start to the season, we’ve had some good additions to the team and we’re going to try and push as high as we can until the end of the season.”
