International Women's Day

For International Women’s Day, we wanted to recognise the achievements of the many talented, dedicated and hardworking women who play such an important role at Luton Town Football Club.

Equal opportunities run across everything we do. We are committed to the principle of equal opportunity in employment and our employment policies for recruitment, selection, training, development, and promotion are designed to ensure that no job applicant or employee receives less favourable treatment on the grounds of their gender.

As such we support the message behind International Women’s Day to celebrate women's achievement, raise awareness against bias and take action for equality.

To mark the international event, Jemma Osborne, Director of HR went door-to-door, visiting members of the team at work and to their homes to deliver a card of thanks, and a small gift of a cupcake to recognise their contribution and achievements.

“To be honest today blew me away with how much the female staff appreciated such a small gift. They had huge smiles and seemed so grateful to be recognised and to receive an actual thank you for just being them,” she said.

“I’m glad we chose to go to those who lived in Luton doorsteps and hand deliver the thank you card and cupcake as it made a real impact.  Especially for those that have been working from home, on furlough, maternity leave etc, it showed that the Club cared enough to come to them and you could see they felt connected."

We would also like to recognise the contribution to the Club from Luton Town Ladies FC, and all of the volunteers, casual staff and of course the supporters who bring so much to Luton Town Football Club, that we weren’t able to visit today.
